Prairie Protection Colorado

Prairie Protection Colorado was started by grassroots activists who refused to stand by while they witnessed the continued annihilation of prairie dogs up and down the Front Range. Our non-profit organization advocates for prairie dogs by drawing attention to the mass exterminations of prairie dog colonies through organizing and resisting the destruction of these last remaining prairie communities. PPC organizes on the ground and works with local governments, the media and legal channels to cast a web of protection over the last remaining prairie dog colonies throughout Colorado’s Front Range communities. ...

Underground Action Calendar

Deep Green Resistance maintains an international Underground Action Calendar to publicize and normalize the use of militant and underground tactics in the fight for justice and sustainability. Below, we excerpt actions from the area covered by the Southwest Coalition region of Deep Green Resistance. Listing an action does not necessarily mean we support the goals, strategies, or tactics of those actionists. Stop Thinning Forests

Stop Thinning Forests is a community compilation, sponsored by Deep Green Resistance, of research and voices that speak in defense of our forests against the atrocities that are being committed on those communities in the name of “fire mitigation” and “forest health.” The Forest Service, in partnership with the timber industry, uses propaganda to promote the idea that thinning helps lessen fire severity while improving forest health. The research on the benefits of forest thinning is financially backed by the timber industry, and congressional passing of bills that promote thinning are backed by the lobbying efforts of the industry. The main goal for thinning forests is to increase revenue by allowing the timber industry to get into forests that were previously protected by environmental laws. Recent legislation has allowed the industry to bypass those laws and profit from forest products in the name of “forest health and restoration.” The Forest Service has consistently worked with the timber industry as a result of financial incentives and has been responsible for creating the infrastructure through use of federal tax dollars in the form of subsidies that enable the industry to “get the cut out.” ...

FAQ: Radical Feminism

FAQ: Radical Feminism Posted on May 25, 2013 DGR strives to be a radical organization in every respect, including our approach to feminist struggles. If you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers. Why are some people accusing DGR of transphobia? DGR has been accused of transphobia because we have a difference of opinion about the definition of gender. DGR does not condone dehumanization or violence against anyone, including people who describe themselves as trans. Universal human rights are universal. DGR has a strong code of conduct against violence and abuse. Anyone who violates that code is no longer a member of DGR. ...

SNWA Pipeline

The Southern Nevada Water Authority, Las Vegas’s water agency, has received permission from the Bureau of Land Management and other agencies to build a massive groundwater pumping and pipeline project from the arid basin and range country in eastern Nevada and western Utah. This project will profoundly alter the ecology of a whole region and steal water from the Goshute Indian Reservation and other rural communities. Deep Green Resistance Southwest opposes this project without exception or compromise, and has made organizing opposition to the pipeline a top priority. Those who wish to get involved can visit our project, Stop the SNWA Water Grab, on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/StopSNWA?ref=hl ...

Strategy

Strategy Decisive Ecological Warfare Strategy Goals The ultimate goal of the primary resistance movement in this scenario is simply a living planet—a planet not just living, but in recovery, growing more alive and more diverse year after year. A planet on which humans live in equitable and sustainable communities without exploiting the planet or each other. Given our current state of emergency, this translates into a more immediate goal, which is at the heart of this movement’s grand strategy : Goal 1: To disrupt and dismantle industrial civilization; to thereby remove the ability of the powerful to exploit the marginalized and destroy the planet. ...
